What is it? How to claim it!
Everyone who visits these pages is entitled to a marvellous free gift. Some
people have already claimed their gift, while others know about the offer but
can't be bothered to accept. What will you do?
WHAT IS IT?
An inheritance which is beyond the reach of change and decay, imperishable,
unsullied, that will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.
(1st letter of Peter, chapter one, verse 4)
For the wage that sin pays is death; but the bountiful free
gift of God is eternal life through and in union with Jesus Christ.
(Paul's letter to the Romans, chapter 6, verse 23)
WHERE IS IT?
God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son (Jesus Christ
the Saviour). He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son
of God does not have the life. (1st letter of John, chapter five, verses
eleven and twelve) span>
HOW DO I GET IT?
Peter said to them, "Repent, (turn away from and
forsake your former life with all its mistakes and failings and wrongdoing);
...and let every one of you be baptized (identify yourself with and become
one with Jesus Christ in His dying to the old life and rising again to glorious
new life) in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins;
...and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit
(God himself, living in your innermost being, empowering you to live as
you should). For the promise
is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the
Lord our God will call." (The Acts of the Apostles, Chapter 2, verses 38-39)
Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If any man is thirsty, let him come
to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his
innermost being shall flow rivers of living water.'. He was speaking about
the Holy Spirit..." (John 7:37-38)
"... ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and
you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks
receives, and he who
seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone?
Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or
if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts
to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy
Spirit to those who ask
Him!" (The Gospel according to Luke, Chapter Eleven, verses 9-13)
"And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." (The Gospel according to Matthew, chapter 21, verse 22)
WHAT'S THE CATCH?
Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to
come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow
Me. For whoever desires
to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will
save it.
"For what profit is it to a man if he gains
the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?
"For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will
be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father's, and of the
holy angels." (Jesus speaking in Luke's Gospel chapter 9, verses 23-26)
"If anyone comes to Me and does not hate [in comparison] his father
and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life
also, he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come
after Me cannot be My disciple. ... whoever of you does not forsake all that
he has cannot be My disciple." (Jesus speaking in Luke's Gospel Chapter14, verses 26-33)
